Ans: Separate rules for boys and girls will create a huge mess as this will lead to discrimination between boys and girls.
8. If you were to write a different ending for this story, how will you end it?
Ans: When the kulfi-seller overcharged for 5 kulfis instead of 7, Phali should inform the kulfi seller and Pilloo aunty about the discrepancy. Phali also requests the Pilloo aunty to pay for 7 kulfis. Pilloo aunty was overjoyed to see Phali’s fairness and sincerity.

Ans: Yes, my grandmother is also like Pilloo aunty. She always inspires me to be honest.

Ans: If Pilloo aunty had paid the kulfi-seller less money, the children would have concluded that Pilloo aunty is dishonest. I would have thought the same thing.

Ans: I believe Akshay will drink water because he is tired.
12. Why was Akshay confused?
Ans: Akshay was troubled because he was very thirsty, and Anil was giving him water at his house, but his grandma had instructed him not to drink or eat anything in Anil’s house.

Ans: Yes, I have opposed inappropriate touching by fellow passengers on a public bus.
22. If you were in Ritu’s place, what would you do?
Ans: If I had been in Ritu’s situation, I would have informed my parents about it.

Ans: When such incidents occur, the youngster should instantly shout at the offender and inform his or her parents. Parents must teach their children the difference between a good and bad touch.
24. Everybody’s touch is not the same. Ritu did not like it when Meena’s uncle held her hand, but she liked to hold Meena’s hand. Why do you think there was this difference?
Ans: There is a distinction because when Meena’s uncle grasped Ritu’s hand, she was uncomfortable because it was an inappropriate touch. On the other hand, Ritu did not feel uncomfortable when Meena held her hand because it was a nice touch.

Marietta has a big family. Every day there is a quarrel over watching TV. Marietta’s brother wants to watch a cricket match while her mother and aunt want to watch some different programs. Marietta wants to watch cartoons and her father wants to watch football matches. Marietta’s father says that he gets to watch TV only in the evenings and finally everyone has to watch football matches. This is a very common situation that most of us face at our homes.
Pratibha faces a challenge every day in her life. She complains that she needs to get back home sharp at 7 o’clock in the evening but her brother is allowed to play for a longer time. Pratibha wonders why she gets scolded by her parents if she is late in the evening.
Pilloo aunty took Phali and Nazu to the beach along with their friends. They played in the sand and in the giant wheel. They ate Bhelpuri and kulfis on the beach. The kulfi seller by mistake charged for five kulfis. He had to charge for seven kulfis. The children were happy that they had to pay less but Pilloo aunty paid the money for seven kulfis.
Akshay loves his grandmother. She talks to him about a lot of interesting things. She loves Akshay’s friend Anil but she has strictly warned Akshay not to have water and food in Anil’s house. She says that they all come from different families and so he should never eat anything at Anil’s place. One day after a volleyball match, Akshay went to Anil’s house. He was very thirsty. Anil offered him a glass of water but he remembered what his grandmother had told him. He was very confused.
The next story is about Dhondu. Dhondu has a big family. His elder uncle takes care of everything in the house and their family. All his life, Dhondu worked in the fields but now he wants to do something new. He wants to take a loan from the bank and buy a chakki machine to grind grains. Dhondu is very confident of his new business that it will do well. His father also approves of it but his elder uncle doesn’t want him to.
The last story is about a girl named Ritu. She is scared to go to Meenu’s house because her uncle is there. Ritu doesn’t like it when her uncle touches her hand. In spite of Meenu pleading, Ritu did not go.

It is very important to develop a sense of what is right and what is wrong. We should learn what is appropriate and what is not appropriate. We should be wise and courageous to face such situations.
