There Are Various Ways of Collecting Data

3. Bar Chart

Tally Mark: A tall mark is counting the objects or activities in the group of 5. A single vertical line represents an object. To mark the tally, we draw 4 vertical lines and the fifth line obliquely cuts through the four vertical lines. Tally mark is the quickest and easiest way of recording data. 

Pictorial Representation: It is the presentation of information in a visual form.

The above picture is called pictorial representation. In the picture, you can see that different kinds of fruits are classified as per shape and variety. 

Bar Graph: In a bar chart or bar graph we present data in the following form.

In the above picture, we have presented the data on the number of animals in the form of bars on a graph. We have mentioned the name of the animals on the flat line and on the vertical line we have marked the numbers. Then we have drawn the bars as per the number of animals.
